Albert is a senior associate at Heal and Co. in the areas of construction law and professional liability. He has more than twenty years of experience as a litigator in Ontario and British Columbia. Albert’s practice focuses on claims for construction deficiencies, project delays, and negligence against engineers and architects.
Albert is a strong and tactful advocate. He provides strategic and practical advice to a wide range of clients in all aspects of construction disputes. He has a broad range of practical knowledge and experience through cases involving engineers, architects, owners, and contractors. Albert’s unique experience includes working for sureties and insurers in cases of subrogation, defence and coverage.
Albert’s education in structural engineering and construction management provides a solid foundation for him to understand the construction issues and to persuasively leverage the facts. During his engineering and graduate law studies, Albert benefited from various scholarships, research and teaching positions, all of which have helped hone his analytical and communication skills. Albert is constantly learning and enjoys new challenges. His current interests are the role of expert witnesses and use of technology and generative AI.
Albert is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association/Ontario Bar Association, and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association.
Beyond work, Albert enjoys exploring the hiking trails in southern Ontario with his family. He plays squash and likes photography and travelling abroad.
