Damon Stoddard is a partner at Heal & Co. LLP. He has practised construction law, and
civil and commercial litigation since his call to the Ontario Bar in 2005.
Damon has expertise in drafting and revising construction contracts, and supplementary conditions to construction contracts.
In addition to his construction law practice, Damon has experience in insurance defence litigation, insurance coverage opinions, defending professionals as LawPRO counsel, Tarion proceedings, bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, shareholder disputes and labour and employment law matters. Damon has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Commercial List, the Divisional Court, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Damon received an LL.B. from the University of Victoria in British Columbia in 2003, and an LL.M. from McGill University in 2007, where he prepared a thesis on the subject of intellectual property rights and, specifically, the protection of regulatory data submitted to Health Canada by innovative pharmaceutical companies.
Damon is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates’ Society, the Ontario
Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
