The Suspension of Limitation Periods is Ending

By operation of Ontario Regulation 73/20 of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (1), any provision of any statute, regulation, rule, by-law or order of the Government of Ontario establishing any limitation period shall be suspended, and the suspension shall be retroactive to Monday, March 16, 2020. As a result, any limitation period within which a step must be taken that was temporarily suspended, resumes running as of September 14, 2020, with the same timelines to avoid expiry as existed on March 16, 2020.
